Women typically leave themselves to the bottom of the priority-pile. It’s time to take of yourselves! Lynne Dalton is an expert in women’s hormonal health, peri-menopause and the menopause, from dietary support to using supplements safely to reduce symptoms, protecting your microbiome and bone health as you age.
Here Lynne talks to Dublin City FM about the different phases of hormonal cycles throughout women’ s lives and how supporting yourself through these changes can help. Both partners can benefit from improving dietary content of antioxidants to protect egg quality and sperm quality. However, you need to be realistic about the changes you can make. Adding extra pressure and stress is not helpful, and changes need to be practical and achievable. There’s always something small you can do, without assigning unrealistic goals.
Going forward into the peri-menopause, there can be lots of flux where women don’t feel like themselves, with new and vague symptoms of insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, joint pain and anxiety which can be hard to pin down.
