Fertility Nutritional Profile

Learn More about our Fertility Nutritional Profile

Blood test (phlebotomy)

This test will allow your nutritionist to identify any gaps you may have and tailor your dietary and supplement plan to restore deficiencies. This will give you a targeted approach to support egg quality, sperm quality and quantity, and healthy conception and pregnancy. See also our Functional Nutritional Profile for an extended version of this test.

This test measures:

  • Copper
  • Zinc
  • Selenium
  • Antioxidant status: super oxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX)
  • Optional: Vitamin D

Robert undertook the Fertility Nutritional Profile to assess any key deficiencies that might impact sperm health. He had low numbers of sperm and high DNA fragmentation. The test identified low levels of selenium which have been shown to increase the risk for DNA fragmentation. His antioxidant activity was raised indicating possible oxidative stress which is detrimental to sperm and sperm DNA. Robert had a dietary and supplement protocol designed to address these issues and a repeat DNA fragmentation test showed much improved results after 3 months.

Key findings:

  • Deficiency of selenium
  • High activity of super oxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX)
