Fibrinogen
€20 as add-on to existing test
Fibrinogen is a marker of clotting in the body. Increased levels of fibrinogen have been detected in cardiovascular disease and post-viral conditions such as Long Covid, and can lead to a higher risk of blood clotting.
Who can benefit from this test?
Your nutritionist may recommend this test if you have:
- Complex fatigue conditions, ME/CFS, Long Covid
- As an additional test of blood vessel health with the Heart Health Profile

Ruth had Long Covid for over a year and was experiencing severe fatigue, headache and brain fog. Amongst other tests carried out, this blood test identified a increased level of fibrinogen. This indicates a higher level of blood clotting, possibly microclotting that is detected in Long Covid.
Ruth started on fibrinolytic enzymes including nattokinase to help with blood flow. Within a few weeks, her energy began to improve and her cognitive function increased. She still had symptoms and needed to manage her condition, but this was an important piece of the puzzle for her.
Key Findings:
- Elevated levels of fibrinogen
